A January THANKSgiving

Tonight we had a Thanksgiving dinner with our friends. Our friend Megan had a 20 pound turkey that her mom gave her and she wanted to know if we wanted to come over for dinner. So as a group we decided that if we were going to do this we were going to do it right. Megan made the Turkey and gravy. I made mashed potatoes and stuffing, and Jenna made home made rolls and a salad. So on January 31, 2011 we had Thanksgiving dinner and it was delicious. We all sat around telling stories and enjoying everything that we are thankful for. After all Thanksgiving only come once a year, or does it...

Friday night Logan and I attended Sleep overs. haha I know it sounds silly but we had such a great time. So we have these friends, Jason and Jenna, and Andrew and Megan and we hang out all the time. The boys are always wanting to play video games and us girls are always wanting to talk, and watch movies. So we decided to have a slumber party weekend. Friday night we split up all the girls at Jason and Jenna's and all the boys at our house. The boys ran around, ate pizza, and played video games all night and we talked for hours, watched an Angelina Jolie movie, ate all the sugar and treats you can imagine, and painted our nails. The night was a success when we all passed out at about 3am. I am not going to lie we all felt a little old the next day when it was hard to move around due to staying up so late. It was so fun and I came to the conclusion that no matter how wonderful your husband is every once in a while you just need a little girl time:)

Saving the EARTH one bottle at a time.

As most of you know Logan and I are bound and determined to Save the World. Like good citizens we are starting with the easy task of recycling. Rexburg just started to make recycling available to everyone. In California all you have to do is put your recyclables outside on the sidewalk and they come by and pick them up. However, in Rexburg the only recycling bins in town are located in the parking lot of Wal-Mart where you have to run around and sort all of the things that you bring. So here is Logan on a Sunday afternoon, in his church clothes running around in the windy snow/rain slowly saving the earth. Proud:)

pOOr Robin

Our little red Toyota Corolla's name is Robin. She is such a good car. She was born in San Luis Obispo California and only drove in the sunshine. Four years ago she moved to Rexburg Idaho where she tries her hardest to drive well in the snow. She isn't as skilled as the other cars in town, but she does her best. Yesterday Logan was driving Robin when a car backed up into the front of her. Robin is ok and still runs, but is unfortunately going to need about $1000 worth of repairs. We are going to get her fixed as soon as possible, because with two of us and one Robin we can't afford to loose her.

Harry Freakin Potter= LiFe

Logan and I are so excited that we don't have school today. We have been hanging around the house doing homework all morning and I am so excited for date night tonight. Logan is taking me to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at the Cheap Theater tonight. I saw it right when it came out back at Thanksgiving, but for me once is soooo not enough. I am so excited for tonight. I can't wait to sneak in my own popcorn that i popped at home and watch one of my favorite movies. I love Holidays they make all the other days of classes and work worth it:)

TIE Time

For church today I decided I would wear a tie. Men wear ties all the time and I have always seen ties as a symbol of power, so I decided it was time I shared some of that power. As we walked into church today I got some interesting looks. I could tell most people had never seen a woman wear a tie before, but that is ok because I don't think I have either really. Logan said that out of all the people wearing ties in the room I was the best looking:) I am not trying to be a shining billboard for Feminism, but I am an equality feminist so I suppose it's good that I represent. All in all my first tie day was successful. Logan was nice enough to tie it for me because I am so not advanced enough for that. I told him that I am going to wear a tie for every big even in my life. Graduation, the publishing of my first book... haha we will see about that. Ladies you should try that tie, it's kind of empowering:)

The New YEAR

For family home evening tonight Logan was in charge of the lesson so we watched the new mormon message "Look not behind thee" It was all about looking toward the future and focusing on where you are going not where you have been. So Logan decided it would be a good idea to write letters to ourselves that we would read one year from now. They would be all about where we want to go from now and what we want to achieve. I am so excited to look forward and forget about the past. I think 2011 is going to be a really special year for us.

What do you want to accomplish in 2011?
