Hopefully The Last Bump Update

38 Weeks and 39 Weeks

How far along are you? 39 Weeks
How am I feeling? I am feeling tired! At this point I am feeling kind of heavy I believe little girl has just recently dropped down so I am waddling a bit more now, which I have made peace with;) I am 2cm dilated and 80% effaced, so I guess that is good that my body is making some progress towards the big day!
Total weight gain?  19 pounds now. I have consistently gained about 1 pound a week, which my doctor seems to be happy with. I really just feel all the weight gain around my stomach, but as a result I have no balance anymore and can hardly get off the couch by myself. Logan is at the point where he will just rolls me off the couch or out of bed. haha
How big is baby? According to our last ultrasound she was 7 pounds and 6 ounces, so she is getting big. Baby center says she is the size of a small watermelon, which for some reason is very unsettling to me. Plus I think she will be way cuter than a watermelon.
Maternity Clothes? I have been wearing lots of stretchy dresses lately since the temperature has been on the rise down here in Orange County. Mostly I have been living in my bathing suit. Logan and I have been going to the beach as much as possible and I have always been the most comfortable in my bathing suit so that is nice. I think we have been to the beach 3 times in the last 5 days. Today was my last day of work so we will probably go everyday until she comes. I figure I can either nap on the couch or in my beach chair by the water!
Stretch Marks? Yep, I have got a few. They are pretty low on my belly, but I just remember how much I wanted a baby and then when I think about things like stretch marks they just don't seem to really matter.
Sleep? I am trying people! I am trying! Everybody is telling me to sleep as much as I can, but holy cow it is hard when you are the size of a house and cannot get comfortable! I pee every 45 minutes and roll over ever 30 minutes. So in between there I think there is some sleep occurring...maybe.
Best moment of the week? Best moment was my birthday. I turned 26 last Friday and had a really nice day with Logan and friends. Usually for birthdays we choose one or two special activities that we would like to do and make them happen. However, Logan had me make a list and then we did all of them. He said that the babe will be coming soon and he wanted me to feel special and really enjoy myself. I ended up having a lovely time and really enjoyed being with him.
Food cravings? Sushi, sushi, sushi! Oh and pizza. Pizza is one of those things that just always sounds good to me. I have also made numerous batches of homemade biscuits and eat like half of them. You know just keeping it healthy over here in the Thomas house.
Food aversions? I don't love chicken right now. If it is in what I am eating I usually pick it out.
Belly button in or out? Both! At a resting state it is in, but when I am talking, laughing, or excited it shoots out. I think it has a mind of it's own. It makes me nervous...
What I miss? Being able to sleep on my stomach. I LOVE sleeping on my stomach and I cannot wait to try it again after that babe comes out. I also miss my energy level. I feel like my energy is being zapped lately, so I can't wait to get some more when she is out.
What I'm looking forward to? I am so excited to meet our little girl and see what she looks like. I am also excited for my mom and sister to come for the birth. They are very special to me and I cannot wait for them to witness this with me.

Maternity Pictures

When we were home for the Christmas break my sister Tani and I decided that we should do a little maternity shoot so I could remember this first pregnancy and how special it has been for me. Pregnancy has been such an intense journey for our family. When Logan and I decided that it was time to start our family we were surprised when we ran into some issues that ended up making it very difficult. The next year turned out to be one of the biggest struggles that we have experienced. The frustration every month coupled with the feeling that I was incapable of doing something that every woman "should" be able to do was heart breaking at times. When we found out I was pregnant it was one of the sweetest moments of my life. I came out of the bathroom crying and Logan assumed it was bad news again so he opened up the covers of our bed and invited me to come and snuggle with him. I then held up the test and once he saw it he took me into his arms and said, "you did it Tay! you deserve this." After we cried and celebrated together I ran upstairs to my parents room (where we were staying) and jumped in their bed with the test in my hand and did some more crying with my mom.  So at that point even though the pregnancy has been very hard physically, mentally, and emotionally I am so grateful for the opportunity to create this little girl and to hopefully soon bring her into the world. These pictures are just some sweet moments that make me feel close to little girl and realize how lucky I am to have her presence in my life. These photos were taken by Krissy Bellisario and styled by Tani Vrajich.

2014 Summer Recap

Please prepare yourself for the largest photo dump there ever was...

^^^We were so lucky to be able to play with these little ones and get in some practice;)

^^^We obviously lived at the beach and Logan perfected the art of spear fishing.

^^^Here we were celebrating my job offer from LDS Family Services

^^^Kimala and I enjoyed a couple matinee movies together.

^^^My parents got us tickets to a Dodger game!

^^^Just a few images that represent some of the things I love best about being home.

^^^We took  day trip to San Francisco and we were not going to take any chances with our car;)

^^^We spent the afternoon at the museum admiring the "Gorgeous Exhibit"

^^^And then we ate! Bubba Gumps, Boudines, and Ghiradelli baby.

^^^We spent the fourth of July at a friend's party and had an amazing time with family.

^^^Our friends Erik and Emily came to visit and needless to say we had a blast showing them around SLO and doing all of our favorite activities.

^^^Here is Emily climbing through a creepy tunnel on our night hike.

^^^The sand dunes are always a must.

^^^Enjoying the sunset at our favorite spot.

^^^And of course beaching it up.

^^^And of course you can't leave SLO without hitting up the drive in with some Fattes Pizza.

^^^Hanging out in Bubble Gum Alley at Farmers Market.

^^^At the end of the week we headed down to Emily's hometown in Glendora and ate some of the best donuts we have ever had!

^^^Celebrating Kimala's birthday

^^^After we moved down to Irvine we took a day trip down to San Diego where Logan surfed all morning at a nudist beach and then we spent the night listening to our good friend Jack Johnson.

So here I sit patiently awaiting the arrival of our little girl. Oh wait, did I say patiently? I feel like I don't even know what that word means anymore. I am so not being patient! I want her to come out right now. So as a result I am occupying my mind by making homemade biscuits, whipping down the kitchen counters like a thousand times, and reviewing all our photos from the last year. While I was scrolling through my photo library I realized that there is like a 3 month gap where I did not blog any pictures from our summer! So although I try not go go back in time and blog about things because it makes the whole chronological thing mute I am doing it anyways because I want to remember our last summer together before we found out that I was pregnant and our lives instantly changed:) So here it is! After we graduated from BYU we took our amazing vacation to Hawaii and then we moved home to live with Kimala and Dan in SLO until we found a place in Irvine to live. We stayed there for about 6 weeks and honestly had a blast. We hung out with our family, went to a Dodger game, took a tip up for San Francisco, played with our friends Erik and Emily and enjoyed our freedom before Logan started medical school and I started my new job and a crazy pregnancy! Enjoy all ten thousand pictures!
